Copilot, and ChatGPT and Claude when connected to Microsoft 365, work with the signed-in person's existing permissions. If old sharing links or overly broad access exist, AI can surface files people were never meant to find. Microsoft 365 Copilot
A paid add-on licence. Works inside Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint with your own emails, files and meetings.
ChatGPT with Microsoft 365
OpenAI's AI assistant. On business plans it can connect to Outlook, Teams and SharePoint once your Microsoft 365 admin approves access.
Claude with Microsoft 365
Anthropic's AI assistant, connected to Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams. Each person only reaches content they already have access to.

Common questions about AI at work
Is our company data safe with AI tools?
Business AI tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT and Claude work within each person’s existing Microsoft 365 permissions. The real risk is usually old sharing links and overly broad access, which AI can bring to the surface. That is why we review and fix permissions before switching anything on.
Do we need to buy Copilot for everyone?
No. Copilot Chat is included with eligible Microsoft 365 business plans. We help you decide who would genuinely benefit from the paid Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, so you don’t pay for seats that go unused.
Can we use ChatGPT or Claude alongside Copilot?
Yes. Many teams use more than one assistant. We can connect ChatGPT or Claude to your Microsoft 365 alongside Copilot, set clear rules on which tool is approved for what, and show your staff when each one is the better fit.
